On WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger, Meta AI is introducing a voice mode that lets users talk to celebrities like Awkwafina and Dame Judi Dench in real time. Image input for questions and editing capabilities are also made possible by the update.

Meta AI now has a voice mode similar to ChatGPT on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger, allowing users to have real-time conversations with well-known characters like Awkwafina, Dame Judi Dench, John Cena, Keegan Michael Key, and Kristen Bell. At the Meta Connect event on Thursday, the brand-new feature, which is supported by the Llama 3.2 model, was made public.

Meta AI will allow users of all Meta apps to converse with each other in a specialized voice mode with a variety of voices to choose from, just like before.

According to Meta, the new update will allow you to select from a variety of voice options for your assistant as this feature begins to roll out, including some well-known ones like the AI voices of Awkwafina, Dame Judi Dench, John Cena, Keegan Michael Key, and Kristen Bell.

While discussing the new Meta AI voice, CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated, "I think that voice is going to be a way more natural way of interacting with AI than text." However, this isn't the first time Meta has utilized celebrities to increase product popularity.

It had launched AI chatbots based on the "personalities" of numerous well-known celebrities, including Kendall Jenner, Snoop Dogg, and Tom Brady, in September 2023. However, the tech giant eventually made the decision to discontinue this experimental feature.

What other brand-new functions will Meta AI receive?

Meta AI now has the ability to accept image inputs in addition to the new voice mode, allowing users to share photos with the chatbot and ask questions. In the Meta example, a picture of a new dish was sent to the AI and detailed instructions were requested for how to make it.

Meta AI users now have the ability to not only share their photos with the chatbot but also request that it edit them, taking things to the next level. In addition, Meta AI will be able to alter an object's background or color, remove people from an image, and more.
